The Collages of Volkan Diyaroglu are intrinsically related to his entire artistic creations. Their irony and synthesis are the mirror of canvases’ explosive profusion. It’s a silhoutte, it is a filter that brings down to essence what is the core of the work of the artist: sudden jumps in times and spaces.
In the canvases, as well as the Collages ,Diyaroglu seems to propose a “prehistoric future of humanity”. It is not just playing with words, but according to Volkan “ We come from where we will go” ; the past and the future are in the same direction inside his works. To look forward is to look at our genesis, digging us into it.
On the 12 Collages proposed by AR / CONTEMPORARY ART, the present meets the past and the past meets the future passing through doors, holes, windows, spatiotemporal tunnels. Past, present and future move through Wormholes: sudden surreal passages created by the artist. Cows, Humans, Fishes, Hands appear or look for an escape. Leak loose water. Windows and closets show the street that opens a tear into reality
The irony and an immediate and balanced sense of composition give to these images a taste of the Absurd pregnant of the dramatic research of an escape, an entrance, a Wormhole.

I collage i Volkan Diyaroglu sono intrinsecamente legati al resto della sua produzione artistica. La loro ironica e sintetica intelligenza è lo specchio della profusione esplosiva delle sue enormi tele. Ne è la silhoutte, il filtro. Scarnifica fino all’essenziale quello che è il fulcro nevralgico dell’opera dell’artista: il cortocircuito (spazio) temporale.
Nelle tele, così come (e forse ancor più) nei suoi collage, Diyaroglu sembra proporre una “preistorica umanità del futuro.” Non è un gioco di parole, perché secondo Volkan “Noi veniamo da dove andremo.” Il futuro e il passato sono nella stessa direzione all’interno della sua opera. Guardare avanti significa guardare alla notte dei tempi, scavarci dentro.
Nei 12 collage proposti da AR / CONTEMPORARY, il presente e il passato, il passato e il futuro, si incontrano attraverso porte, buchi, finestre: tunnel spaziotemporali. Quelli che sono definiti, nella scienza più stretta come anche nella letteratura più fantasiosa, Wormholes. Nelle immagini create, anzi composte, dall’artista, gli spazi/tempi sono collegati da questi passaggi improvvisi di chiara matrice surreale. Mucche, uomini, pesci e mani appaiono o cercano la fuga. Falle perdono acqua. Finestre e armadi segnano la strada, aprendo uno strappo nella realtà.
L’ironia e un immediato e bilanciato senso compositivo permeano immagini con il gusto dell’assurdo, ma anche pregne della drammatica ricerca di una fuga, di un ingresso, di un wormhole.
